Don't worry!
We have trained leaders and plenty of camping families that are glad to help. The Pack will also host training days, to help with equipment selection and more. You'll be an expert "kinda" in no time at all.
Parents are always welcome.
Scout policy requires at least one adult parent or guardian be present with younger kids Lions - Bears.
During regular Den meetings the Den Leaders will usually have activities and lesson plans for the youth. Parents are welcome to help or just hang out with other parents. Pack meetings and Special meetings usually have a specific purpose, you don't want to miss these.
Cub Scouting events are fun for Parents too.
Scouting is year round fun, with several events. There is no requirement to be at everything, but its always more fun when we all work together.
But let's break it down;
Typically the Den/Pack meets once a week to work on advancements and projects, last meeting of the month we hand out awards of the achievements completed. The weekly meeting usually are about an hour.
Additionally, we try to have one outdoor activity each month, Hiking,Camping Fishing etc. These are scheduled in advance and can be form a few hours to a weekend event.
There are also special banquets and Council or District events.
With Scouting there is always stuff to do, but you do what fits your schedule.
Cub Scouting is for youth in kindergarten through fifth grade.
The Scouting program continues after Cub Scouting with Scouts BSA ,Venturing,Exploring,and Sea Scouts.
The Annual Expense for Cub Scouting is broken down into two main categories;
BSA Annual Membership Fee: $133.00 / per youth.
Pack Annual Dues: $122 / per youth.
In addition to these annual expenses, each Scout has uniform expenses and there may be fees for special events or outings.
However, please keep in mind these are annual expenses and this is still more economical than many other youth activities.
Throughout the year the pack will participate in fundraising programs. This money is used to help fund some Pack activities or support the individual Scout in other Scouting Activities.
The Pack might also operate a uniform exchange or uniform bank. To help Scouts as the move up in Rank.
The Pack operating budget is set at the start of each year which details monies and expectations. Ask Pack Committee for more details.
